Charleston Frog Snatching Trips
Join us for a truly authentic Lowcountry experience snatching frogs at night on our local rivers & creeks.
These trips are an action-packed, hands-on experience with short run times and lots of snatching. It’ll take you a little while to get warmed up to it but once it’s on, it’s on. We’re running spot to spot, looking for holes in the grass, and snatching up frogs left and right. These trips are great for folks of all experience levels.

Target Species
Depending on the season and the weather, we fish three different locations around the Charleston area, the inshore creeks, the harbor, and the jetties.
The creeks offer great, year-round Lowcountry fishing with seasonal flood tide opportunities. The harbor and the jetties are only fishable when the weather permits but they offer some incredible diversity in species. We’re typically fishing in 20-50’ of water, looking for channels, dropoffs, and ledges. The structure underneath the iconic Ravenel Bridge offers some incredible habitat as well.
Where We Go
We're Headed To The River
We’re meeting at the Cypress Gardens Boat Ramp on the Cooper River, 30 minutes after sunset—heading out right when it gets dark. There are always frogs but typically full moons and trips after a good rain yield the highest quantities of bullfrogs.
We don’t have to go far to get on the frogs, running 10-15 minutes upriver and downriver from the boat launch. We might cover a mile of river in total but there are so many frogs within that mile it’ll be all we need.

We provide everything you need for a successful and enjoyable evening of Charleston frog snatching. The boats are clean and ready to go, the lights are inspected, and the cooler is loaded with ice—ready for your food, snacks, and beverages. There may be bugs but we always have bug spray covered.
What To Bring
Come dressed for the weather. We recommend wearing long-sleeve clothing for the bugs and comfortable, close-toed footwear. Be sure to bring your food, snacks, and beverages for the evening.
