Charleston Red Snapper Fishing
Targeting Giants: Pursuing South Atlantic Red Snapper on Charleston’s Offshore Reefs With Experienced Captains
Join us 15-30 miles offshore in the Atlantic to target one of the most sought-after prizes in the Lowcountry, Red Snapper. Our Red Snapper trips are designed for anglers who want a premium reef fishing experience, combining high-speed runs to productive bottom structure with the specialized techniques required to land these hard-fighting, vibrant fish. This is a high-energy adventure focused on big catches, tight lines, and bringing home some of the best-tasting fillets the ocean has to offer.
Target Species
While the iconic Red Snapper is our primary target, Charleston’s offshore reefs are full of hard-hitting and great-eating reef species. During our snapper runs, the same ledges and live-bottom areas attract a variety of popular species and seasonal pelagics. It is common to see rods doubled over with everything from powerful Amberjacks and Cobia to delicious Triggerfish and Black Sea Bass. Our goal is to provide a well-rounded day of fishing, ensuring that even if we hit our snapper limits, the action stays consistent with a variety of freezer-filling fish and unforgettable fights.
Red Snapper
The undisputed king of the reef, known for its brilliant color and incredible table quality. These fish offer a powerful, steady pull that tests your gear and provides an unforgettable offshore trophy.
Cobia
Often found hovering around reefs and structures, Cobia are curious, hard-fighting fish that are a blast to sight-fish. They are known for their massive size and delicious, firm white meat.
Triggerfish
Don’t let their unique shape fool you; Triggerfish are exceptionally strong for their size and provide a technical challenge for bottom fishermen. Their white, sweet meat is highly prized by local chefs.
Kingfish
Kingfish are found off the Charleston coast from May through September as they follow baitfish and the perfect water temperature. They fight hard and are great to eat.
Grouper
Our offshore reefs are home to Gag Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Red Grouper, and more. These are usually one of the most prized fish we catch and throw in the cooler within season and regs.
Spanish Macks
A smaller but incredibly energetic relative of the Kingfish, these are perfect for fast-paced action. They are often found in large schools and are excellent when prepared fresh.
Black Sea Bass
A staple of Charleston reef fishing, these aggressive biters ensure there is rarely a dull moment on the boat. They are pound-for-pound some of the best eating fish in the Atlantic.
Amberjack
Nicknamed "Reef Donkeys," Amberjacks are the ultimate test of an angler’s endurance and strength. They inhabit the water column above the reefs and are known for their relentless, diving runs.
Where We Go
We’re going into every Charleston Red Snapper Charter with a game plan! We’re heading 15-30 miles offshore with about a 45-minute run time.
We target Red Snapper on the expansive offshore reefs and live-bottom areas located up to 30 miles off the coast of Charleston. Our captains navigate a strategic mix of natural rock piles, deep-water ledges, and artificial reefs—including sunken barges and decommissioned Navy debris. We've spent years on the water pinning locations that provide the perfect habitat for snapper to congregate.
What's Included
Our experienced captains deliver expert guidance and outstanding service from start to finish, ensuring a memorable day on the water. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or new to the sport, we provide everything you need for a successful and enjoyable day of Red Snapper fishing in Charleston. From rigging rods and instruction to cleaning the fish to take home—we've got everything fishing covered.
What To Bring
If you require seasickness medication, we recommend taking it the night before and morning of your trip. If you’re using Dramamine, be sure to use the non-drowsy kind.
Come dressed for the weather. We recommend wearing sun-protective clothing and comfortable footwear. Sunscreen is a must. Be sure to bring your lunch, snacks, and beverages for the day. These are full-day Red Snapper trips, and it’s great to bring an entire case of water. We welcome a bag cooler or soft coolers for snacks, but we’ve got all the space you need. We’ll help you load your food and beverages into the coolers.
