2-5 Hours
Year Round

Explore the history of ancient marine life with an eco tour and shark tooth hunting adventure on one of Charleston’s barrier islands. These islands are renowned for their abundance of shark teeth, including those from blacktips, bull sharks, and even the occasional megalodon. We’ll drop you off at a designated beach, providing chairs for your comfort while you sift through the sand.

This family-friendly activity allows you to discover prehistoric treasures and enjoy the scenic beauty of the islands. We can customize your trip by visiting multiple islands and combining shark tooth hunting with scenic cruises. On these trips you’ll encounter dolphins, sea birds, osprey, and even sea turtles.

Where We Go

The Charleston coast is lined with a series of barrier islands, each offering unique experiences. From Ripley Light Yacht Club, some of the most popular include:

  • Isle of Palms: A short run (under 15 minutes) takes you to this popular island, known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant atmosphere.
  • Sullivan’s Island: Located just north of Isle of Palms, this island offers a more relaxed and historic ambiance. The run time is similar to Isle of Palms, around 15 minutes.
  • Folly Beach: This vibrant island is known for its lively beach scene and delicious seafood. Expect a slightly longer run, around 20-30 minutes, from the yacht club.
  • Kiawah Island: This exclusive island boasts pristine beaches, championship golf courses, and luxurious resorts. The run time to Kiawah Island is typically around 30-45 minutes.

These are just a few of the many barrier islands that offer stunning scenery and diverse recreational opportunities near Charleston.
