Charleston Offshore Fishing Charters (Reef)

Our offshore fishing charters are broken up into two lengths of time, six and eight hours. For shorter trips, we’re fishing the nearshore reefs and on longer trips we’re heading up to 30 miles offshore to the deeper reefs. Both trips are great for anglers of all experience levels and these are the best ways to fill the freezer full of high quality fish. The most exciting thing about these trips is that you’re always in for a good fight and never know what you’re going to reel in.

Target Species

Nearshore, we target a variety of species, including King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Amberjack, snapper, Shark, and Barracuda.

On the reefs, we target a diverse array of species, including Snapper, Grouper, Black Seabass, Trigger Fish, Mackerel, Amberjack, Shark, and Barracuda. However, the standout species is Cobia, which congregate in large numbers on the reefs, particularly during their peak season from late June to July.

We use tactics such as drifting, freelining, vertical jigging, and bump trolling with live bait, to increase our chances of success. For Cobia, we’re sight fishing, chumming to attract sharks and capitalize on Cobia that follow.

Where We Fish

For nearshore trips, we’re making an 11-25 mile run (about 30 minutes), to the nearshore reef, and your party will experience the excitement and anticipation of pulling up any number of different species. These are six-hour trips.

For reef fishing trips, we’re making a 30-mile run to the reef and your party will experience the excitement and anticipation of pulling up any number of different species. These are eight-hour trips.

We’re fishing a mix of live bottoms like natural rock piles and ledges, depth/temp breaks. and manmade reefs like sunken barges, pieces of sunken bridge, and old navy debris.

Both of our offshore experiences are great for anglers of any experience level.
