Target Species
Shark fishing in Charleston Harbor offers opportunities to encounter a variety of species, including bonnetheads, hammerheads, fine-toothed sharks, sandbar sharks, and bull sharks. These species exhibit seasonal migratory patterns, with some more prevalent during specific times of the year. We use a mix of live bait and cut bait tactics and rigging to target sharks.
Where We Fish
Charleston Harbor offers a variety of productive shark fishing spots. The jetties, particularly the North Jetty, provide excellent access to deeper channels where sharks congregate. Expect a short run (under 15 minutes), from Ripley Light Yacht Club. The shipping channels, known for their strong currents and abundant baitfish, offer excellent shark fishing. This area may require a slightly longer run (15-25 minutes), depending on the specific location within the channel. The area around the Ravenel Bridge, especially during periods of heavy baitfish activity, can also be productive. This location is typically a moderate distance (around 20-30 minutes), from the yacht club.
